Welcome to Northome School
New CDL Class and ATS truck driving simulator coming to Northome School!
A Commercial Driving License (CDL) Class is coming to Northome School during the 2025-2026 school year! Northome School is really excited to be offering a class called "On the Road to a CDL". The class will be offered to Northome students who will be 17 years of age by May 30th of 2026 and hold either a valid Minnesota Driver's License or Instructional Permit. This class will be a year-long class and will focus on classroom instruction, discussion, guest speakers and hands-on driving experience, using a state of the art ATS Truck Driving Simulator. Northome School will be sending an instructor to a "Train the Trainer" event in June that will be held at Patterson High School in California. A huge benefit of this program will be cost savings for our students and their families. On average, attending a typical Truck Driving School will cost students between $5,000-$7,000 dollars. Over the summer, Northome School will be accepting current Northome Students and also Open Enrolled students who would like to attend this amazing class. (see link button on the left) It will be very similar to the one offered by Patterson High School. If you know of a student that would be interested, please contact Northome School to enroll at 218-897-5275.
As a community member, and Director of the DAC I truly appreciate all the opportunities Northome School gives our clients and staff to participate in their community.
The teachers at Northome School are the most caring people I know. Mr. Schneider the science teacher and track coach is nice and encouraging and always ready to help you become the best you.
Building positive relationships with students and families is a must. Northome School goes above and beyond to make sure that happens.

Our Kindergarten class has been watching duck eggs in a warmer in their classroom for a few weeks now. A few days ago they started hatching! The students got to watch them hatch, and hold the adorable baby ducks.

4th grade is working on building circuits with all the bells, lights and whistles in science.

Grades 3-6 also earned the right to tape their teachers to the lunch room posts. After teachers were stuck to the walls- students enjoyed root beer floats! Lots of laughs to celebrate finishing up testing!

Thanks to our sharks for celebrating with grades 3-6. We celebrated finishing up our MCA’s. Our sharks were put through a few “testing” stations!
