Office Hours:
8am-8:40, and 3:15-3;45 each day.

I am in my 16th year of teaching here at Northome School!  Like last year, I will be using the Google Classroom platform with 7-12 students.  Each student in my classes can look for specific information there.

My high school art electives include General Art, Ceramics, Printmaking, and Outdoor Arts (with an option for an Advanced Outdoor Arts class stacked with Outdoor Arts available to students who have taken the intro course).

K-6 students will have art once a week!  7th and 8th grade students will get art every day for one whole quarter!

Grading in my art classes is largely based on effort.  Having said that, there is a lot to learn!  Students will receive clear expectations at the start of each project along with specific criteria.  These criteria are built on the State Art Standards and are important at each grade level as they lead to a greater understanding and appreciation (as well as proficiency) of and within the world of visual art.  While I am aware that most of my students will not be going into the visual arts field as a profession, the overarching lessons that I teach (creativity, open mindedness, giving your best effort) are absolutely applicable in every profession.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

In the event of an E-learning day at Northome school, 7-12 Students will be expected to log in to Google classroom at the regularly scheduled class time.  Attendance will be taken at that time.  If, at that time, we are working on an art project that can be done at home, we will continue to do that remotely.  If we are unable to work on our project (ceramics, for example), Students will have an alternative short art project to complete for the day or a short video to watch!

7-12 art class times are as follows:

Monday:

1st hour - 9:02

2nd hour - 9:51

3rd hour - 10:40

5th hour - 12:52

Tuesday - Friday:

1st hour - 8:45

2nd hour - 9:37

3rd hour - 10:29

5th hour - 12:43

Elementary classes will either have a lesson archived in Seesaw for students to complete at some point throughout the day or the art lesson will be conveyed during one of the video meetings with the classroom.  Follow the classroom teacher’s schedule to find out all of the important details you need to know!
