To become a member of the Northome National Honor Society/Minnesota Honor Society or Minnesota Junior Honor Society, a student must meet the following requirements.
Co-curricular activities: A senior high student (grades 10 - 12) must be involved in at least 3 co-curricular activities. A junior high student (grades 7 - 9) must be involved in at least 1 co-curricular activity. Co-curricular activities include academic clubs, athletic teams, and music groups. Volunteer Hours: A senior high student must have 20 hours of community service over the past year. Junior high students must have 15 hours of community service. Leadership: A student must demonstrate positive leadership in and out of the classroom. Character: A student must demonstrate a strong, positive character. Potential members fill out an informational sheet and submit it to the five member faculty council that will determine those selected for membership. These sheets are handed out following the first semester. |
