Digital Media: Syllabus

Course Content
This course is broken up into three general units: Digital cameras and photography, photo editing, and using photos in presentations and movies.  Students will be producing digital imaging for the school website, too.

This course is a project based, hands-on class. There are a few written assignments, with the majority of work done using cameras and computers.  Students will learn about digital cameras and the basic graphic design/layout concepts. Discussion topics on copyright laws, internet use, and other technology topics will also take place.

Student will be taking photos, critiquing photos, presenting their work, and making movies using their images.  Maintaining a photography blog is a new requirement for this class.  Some projects are centered around creativity and others will require some research, investigation and discussion of concepts and techniques.
