Mustang fans would like to congratulate the girls softball program for a fantastic season. You made us proud!

Congratulations to the boys baseball teams for their sweep over Laporte last night!

Congratulations to the Bulldog Boys track team for its impressive 3rd place finish at the Subsection 29A meet yesterday.  The boys that qualified for sections are Cal Roosdett (100 - 1st, 200 - 1st, Discus -4th), Matt Jourdan (800 - 1st, 3200 - 3rd), Adnew Stueven (1600 - 2nd, 3200 - 2nd), Clyde Jensen (High Jump - 3rd), Cody Rankin (Long Jump - 4th).  Also placing at the meet were Cameron Eckstrom (400 - 7th), the 4 x 800 relay team of Cameron, Dominic Haro, Calvin Eckstrom, and Cody (5th), the 4 x 200 team of Titus Forseen, Dominic, Calvin, Clyde (7th), the 4 x 100 team of Peter Schneider, Dominic, Mort Eckstrom, and Clyde (6th), and the 4 x 400 team of Cameron, Alex Fahey, Clyde, and Titus (4th).

The Lady Bulldog Track Team did a great job yesterday afternoon at the Sub-Section track meet in Park Rapids.  As a team, these young ladies placed 3rd out of 9.  Placing and moving on to the Section Meet in Ada a week from Saturday (may 30) will be:  Lindsey Duresky, Rachel Fahey, Christina Grundmeier, and Zoey Mills in the 4x800, with Megan Hudec as alternate (2nd place), Kezia Rahier in the 100 (2nd place), Zoey in the 800 (4th place), Christina in the 200 and triple jump (2nd place), and Rachel (1st place in the discus with a new team and Overall record, and 4th place in the shot put).  Also placing, but not advancing to the Section Meet were:  Kezia, Brigette and Michaela Williams, and Selena Murray (4th in the 4x200) Sydnee Stroeing, Megan, Latitia Frank, and Makenna Carlson (5th in the 4x100), Lindsey (5th in the 3200) and Kezia, Rachel, Christina, and Zoey (3rd in the 4x400).  GREAT WORK BY THE ENTIRE TEAM!!!!!!
Information concerning the Section Track Meet in Ada will be coming out as details are worked out.  They will be May 30, with pre-lims and field events beginning at 10:30 am.

Trap team members & managers:  You will meet this morning immediately following announcements to take a team photo.  Gather outside the office and wear your team t-shirts!

The weight room will not be open after school today.

Today is Clean-Up Day. Students in grades 7-12 will report to the gym at 12:45 to watch an instructional DVD, with vests/gloves passed out afterward. Class advisors will lead their respective grades on cleaning sections of Highway 71 from 1:10-2:30 and will be back to the school by the end of the day. Students are encouraged to dress appropriately! 

The school’s annual Student Council Cancer Walk will be held on Wednesday, May 27th We will also have a school evacuation drill on Friday. Students and staff will board buses at 2:45 p.m. at head in to town briefly before coming back to the school. Grades 9-11 will board the last bus in line, and 6-8 in the bus ahead of it.

There is a sign-up sheet for Summer Behind The Wheel Driver Training in the Office.  If you are interested, place your name and phone number on the sheet and Mr. Lorenzen will contact you.  The sign-up sheet will only be available unti the end of the day today.

Attention trap shooters:  The State High School Trap Shooting Championship will be held on June 11th in Alexandria, MN. The registration fee is $25, with checks made payable to Northome Community Education. Payment is due in the office TODAY. Please contact Shelly Patten at 218-244-8051 with any questions.

There is a sign-up sheet in the office for girls in grades 6-11 who would like to participate in football cheerleading next year. Please sign up today.

Cancer Walk t-shirts are availble now. Pick yours up for a minium donation of $5.

A reminder to students that library materials borrowed throughout the year must be returned before your clearance form can be signed. 

Looking Ahead:

The next practice for the track team will be Tuesday, May 26, at 3:30.
Attention girls and boys basketball players:  there will be a shooting clinic in Kelliher on June 3rd, beginning at 4:00 p.m. See a coach for more information!

The weight room will be open this summer from 7:30AM-9:00AM daily. Come in and start building that body up for the fall sporting season or just work on keeping tone and fit throughout the summer months. (Note: from July 4-10, the weight room/gyms will not be open for anyone. This is the MSHSL mandatory "No Contact" period.)

Mustang Football players have raffle tickets available for an awesome Upper Red Lake fishing trip through West Wind Resort, a Cabela's gift card, and other prizes.  Your favorite football player in grades 8 - 11 would love to sell you some tickets.

The track team has t-shirts (red shirts & black shirts) with track printing on them, for sale for $5.00.  There are a limited number of both colors and also sizes.  First come first served, no orders will be taken.  Contact a track athlete or Mr. Schneider or Mr. Lorenzen.
